Allison Kanani Mark

Allison Kanani Mark came to PSR after serving as a Christian education coordinator at a church in Honolulu. While here, she significantly influenced campus life through her work with CAPSR, the PANA Institute, the Dismantling Racism Committee, and numerous Middler reviews, which earned her a Koinonia Award for service when she graduated in 2007.
“PSR has prepared me for my current ministry through its many opportunities that were offered during my time in the MDiv program,” Allison says. She especially valued her contextual learning experiences— about liberation theology in El Salvador and post-colonization in Samoa—as well as her courses in the Old and New Testament and in history, theology, ethics, and spiritual disciplines. “I hope I have taken all that I learned with me in my new ministries beyond Holy Hill.”
She is now working as the minister of community and young adult outreach at Buena Vista United Methodist Church in Alameda, CA. “I enjoy organizing and providing pastoral support for the young adults and programs of the church,” she says. She is also on track to become ordained as an Elder in the United Methodist Church.
