Dr. Elizabeth Peña Named Executive Director of CARE

The board of the Center for Arts, Religion, and Education at the Graduate Theological Union is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Elizabeth Peña as the new Executive Director of CARE.

Dr. Peña brings a wealth of academic and non-profit experience that will help shape CARE's future.
Since she began her appointment as Interim Director in November of 2013, Dr. Peña has brought our organization new vision and energy. In addition to instigating a new collaboration between CARE and the Berkeley Center for the Study of Religion, University of California, Dr. Peña successfully brought to completion 14 planned exhibition related programs in the Doug Adams Gallery, and was instrumental in designing exciting new shows and related curricula for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Dr. Peña teaches "Museums and Social Justice" at the University of San Francisco. Formerly the Interim Chair of the John F. Kennedy University's graduate program in Museum Studies, Dr. Peña was also Director and Professor of the Art Conservation Department at Buffalo State College, State University of New York (SUNY).
