LGBT Mormons' Families Film Pre-Screening and Panel Discussion

June 21, 2013 at 7:00pm to 9:00pm

“Families are Forever: reventing Risk & Promoting Well-Being for LGBT Youth & Young Adults" is a film about how the Church of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) contributed large sums of money to the Proposition 8 campaign in 2008.  There were many untold stories of the impact of this on the lives of lesbian and gay Mormons. The CWC invite you to an exclusive preview a new film of one such story produced by the Family Acceptance Project – Families are Forever – the moving short documentary of a devout Mormon family’s journey to support their young gay son.

The film will be followed by a discussion including –

  • Wendy Williams Montgomery and Tom Palani Montgomery – parents featured in the film

  • Dr. Caitlin Ryan – Film Producer and Director of the Family Acceptance Project

  • Mitch Mayne – Executive Secretary, SF Bishopric, Bay Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

  • Bob Rees –  Lecturer, Mormon Studies, Graduate Theological Union
