Project Manager – PSR Earl Lectures & Distinguished Alumnx Award Banquet
Location: Berkeley, CA
Contract Term: May – October 2025
Compensation: $40/hour | Approx. 200–300 hours total
Pacific School of Religion (PSR) seeks a mission-driven and highly organized Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of two of our most anticipated events: the Earl Lectures and the Distinguished Alumnx Award Banquet. These events bring together faith leaders, changemakers, and PSR’s vibrant community for celebration, reflection, and learning.
This contract role is ideal for an experienced event or project manager who thrives in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment and can bring strong planning, communication, and coordination skills to bear across teams and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Logistical Planning
- Build and maintain a comprehensive project timeline
- Coordinate venue setup, audio/visual needs, and catering logistics
- Oversee event registration and guest communications
- Cross Department Coordination
- Act as the lead liaison between internal departments and external vendors
- Facilitate regular planning meetings and taskforce check-ins
- Manage timelines for promotional materials and event collateral
- On-Site Event Management
- Supervise event setup and execution across both days
- Direct staff and volunteer support
- Troubleshoot and resolve day-of issues with professionalism and efficiency
Event Dates
- October 17, 2025 – Distinguished Alumnx Award Banquet
- October 18, 2025 – Earl Lectures
Time Commitment
- Estimated 5–10 hours/week during planning (May–October)
- Increased availability during event week
- Total commitment: ~250–300 hours
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in event or project management
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Comfort managing complex logistics and multiple priorities
- Proactive and collaborative approach to working across teams
- Familiarity with academic or nonprofit environments a plus
