Accommodations

Housing
PSR has limited housing available to guests visiting campus and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Once registered, you’ll receive information about reserving housing. Any questions? Just call 510/849-8931.

Meals
Be our guest for all meals Friday dinner through Saturday dinner.  On your registration, note if you will join in the Saturday breakout lunch about the Theological Education for Leadership program and/or other affinity groups throughout the weekend.

Accessibility
PSR works to ensure that important private and public spaces on campus are accessible to people in wheelchairs. Ramps or ground-level doors provide ready access to the administration building, chapel, dining hall, and classrooms. To reach the reception desk, find automatic door openers at the west entrance of Holbrook Hall. Because of the hills around PSR, manually driven wheelchairs can be difficult to maneuver; motorized wheelchairs or scooters are advised. For more information, to request accessibility accommodations, and a more accessible parking space, call us at 510/849-8252.

Off Campus Accommodations
If you are looking for off campus-accommodations, please feel free to visit the I Love Inns website to search for local inns and hotels that might meet your needs. I Love Inns has wonderful deals for places like the Rose Garden Inn and the Berkeley City Club.

By Air

Oakland International Airport (OAK)

The more convenient airport is the Oakland International Airport, 14 miles from PSR. From there, you can rent a car (follow driving directions from the south above) or use one of the following ways.

Shared Ride (Uber/Lyft/Taxi)
Request an Uber or Lyft from the shared ride waiting area outside the airport which will bring you all the way to campus for around $25 (outside of peak times). Drivetime is generally 40 minutes, depending on traffic.

Public Transit
Take the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) train from the airport. Once outside, follow the signs for the BART and board the free tram which will take you to the Coliseum/Oakland station. From there, you will need to buy a BART ticket and board the Richmond train to the Downtown Berkeley Station (the 7th stop). The fare is $2.60; most machines take cash and credit cards. The trip takes a little under an hour. Once you arrive at the station,
you can
— Walk to PSR—about a mile.
Note: PSR is at the top of a very steep hill at the foot of Hearst and Le Conte streets.
— Get an Uber/Lyft/Taxi—about $6.
— Ride the AC Transit Bus–$2, but does not go up the Le Conte hill!

Airport Shuttles
Several reliable private shuttle operators run between PSR and the airport, including Bayporter Express (for reservations, call 415/467-1800).

San Francisco International Airport (SFO)

The San Francisco International Airport is 26 miles from PSR. From there, you can rent a car (follow directions as from west, above) or get to PSR the following ways.

Note: Frequently heavy traffic can result in a trip of two hours to arrive at campus by car.

Shared Ride (Uber/Lyft/Taxi)
Request an Uber or Lyft outside baggage claim that will bring you all the way to campus for around $50 (outside of peak times). Drivetime will depend on traffic but you can anticipate at least 90 minutes.

Public Transit
Take the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) train from the airport. Once you deplane, take the shuttle to baggage claim and follow the signs to the BART. From there, you will need to buy a BART ticket. The fare to the
Downtown Berkeley Station is $9.55; most machines take cash and credit cards. Board either a Richmond train or a Pittsburg Bay Point train which will require a transfer to a Richmond train in Oakland. (Listen for the
transfer!) The trip to Berkeley takes about 75 minutes. Once you arrive at the station, you can
— Walk to PSR—about a mile.
Note: PSR is at the top of a very steep hill at the foot of Hearst and Le Conte streets.
— Get an Uber/Lyft/Taxi—about $6.
— Ride the AC Transit Bus–$2, but does not go up the Le Conte hill!

Airport Shuttle
Several reliable private shuttle operators run between PSR and the airport, including Bayporter Express (for reservations, call 415/467-1800).
