The Dolores Huerta Foundation (DHF) is a 501 (c)(3) community benefit organization that organizes at the grassroots level, engaging and developing natural leaders. DHF’s mission is to inspire and organize communities to build volunteer organizations empowered to pursue social justice.
DHF is a direct action organization and hands-on training center for community organizing, leadership development, and policy advocacy. Several of our projects are in agricultural communities of California’s Central Valley including Arvin, Lamont, Weedpatch, Lost Hills, Lindsay, Woodlake, and Cutler-Orosi. In collaboration with the Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Center (MLKJFC), DHF launched the Youth and Family Civic Engagement Initiative (YFCEI) in Kern and Fresno counties.
We are proud to announce that we are continuing to expand our community organizing work in several areas, including education reform and youth leadership development. We are eager to hire a few dynamic individuals committed to organizing for social justice. DHF offers unique and enriching opportunities for networking, travel, training, and working directly with the community in civic engagement and policy advocacy.
