Theology in Action in Palestine Lunchtime Forum

December 11, 2019 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Daniel Bannourafaculty lecturer of Islamic Studies and Comparative Religion at Bethlehem Bible College, Palestine, will speak on “Theology in Action in Palestine”. He will be speaking as a Christian living in Palestine.

Whatever happens in the West Bank can’t be isolated from the rest of Palestine. Likewise, Palestinian theology encompasses the whole area and its peoples, not just the West Bank.”

Daniel was born in Jerusalem and has lived both in Palestine and the United States of America. He started his career in the sciences and later found an interest in Theology and Comparative Religion, which is now his main academic focus.

He completed his MA in Transformation: Scripture, Church and World in 2010 at London School of Theology, Northwood, England, and his MA in Islamic Studies in 2014 at The Divinity School at Chicago University.

His academic interests and publications focus mainly on Qur’anic Studies, Medieval Arabic Christian philosophy, and Muslim-Christian relations. Currently, he is writing an introductory book on the Qur’an, the first of its kind for an Arabic audience. He is also active with Kairos Palestine and Christ at the Checkpoint.

This presentation is open to all GTU students, faculty, and staff, and their guests. Pizza and beverages will be available for attendees.

Some of Daniel’s ideas and passions are expressed in this faculty interview:
