Mills College is a historically women’s college which has a transgender inclusive policy and offers graduate programs for men and women. Our campus is situated in a beautiful, serene setting in Oakland, CA. It is accessible by car and public transportation (bus).
Mills Spiritual and Religious Life (SRL) is offering a limited number of positions open to seminarians or graduate students in Religious Studies who are interested in supporting spiritual growth and development on a vibrant campus, this includes supporting student groups, offering chaplaincy, supporting interfaith education and learning programs, and more. Completing service-learning/internship/field placements at Mills Spiritual and Religious Life (SRL) offers a unique opportunity to work with an energetic, diverse student body committed to social justice.
Applicants should be interested and comfortable working within a context of spiritual and religious pluralism. SRL at Mills welcomes people interested in spirituality and social change, spirituality and the arts, leadership development, as well as campus ministry/chaplaincy.
Projects and areas of focus will be determined in conjunction with supervisor, based upon the individual’s learning-serving goals, and alignment with mission and goals of the Office of Spiritual and Religious Life.
Spiritual and Religious Life at Mills College operates out of the beautiful multi-faith chapel and offices at Mills College, and those with field placement will be given a station in the office from which to complete SRL-related work.
Women, people of color, people identifying as LGBTQI, and members of under-recognized/minority religious and spiritual traditions are encouraged to apply.
