Steve has spent much of his career in social transformation, with experiences in private sector, faith based international work, advancement and others.  He completed and MA in Theology (Systematics) from the Graduate Theological Union.   He also earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (Marketing and Economics) from Gonzaga University. He served most recently as Senior Division Director of Economic Development Service at Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County where he helped lead workforce development for those with barriers to employment and aid 35,000 families and individuals in the South Bay during his tenure.

Steve has authored or co-authored three books, including The Other Game: Lessons from How Life is Played in Mexican Villages. His service includes a term as Vice President of the U.S. Catholic Mission Association and the founding President of the board of Illuman, Inc.

He has four sons and lives with his wife in Castro Valley, California where his hobbies include camping, making salsa, (short!) triathlons and writing poetry.
